ABOUT US
Thank you for visiting our Web site. M & W Enterprises is a home-owned, family business. Our president, Lee L. Meade Sr., has been a newspaperman and public relations executive for more than 60 years. When he retired in Horseshoe Bay, TX, in 2001, he was introduced to Faith Academy of Marble Falls, a University-model Christian elementary and high school.
Later, his grandchildren attended school there. And, when they became of junior high and high school age, he began helping the school as a volunteer assistant reporting news and sports events. He has worked for The Highlander and the River Cities Daily Tribune, both of Marble Falls, and in 2007 and 2008 was honored as Sportswriter of the Year by the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools. Recognizing the TAPPS' need for greater promotion of its activities, he became the motivating force behind the organization of the TAPPS news, sports & fine arts newsletter and serves as its editor and publisher.
Recognizing the responsibilities and challenges of the undertaking, he has dedicated his experience in the newspaper and public relations fields to the promotion of high school sports in private and parochial schools in Texas.
You are invited to join his crusade by becoming a subscriber, donor, contributor, advertiser and reader of the newsletter. It will be updated on a daily basis to provide the most current TAPPS news and sports results, as well as timely features on the men and women who make the organization run efficiently for its 245 member schools and their more than 43,000 students.
Meade proudly says he is a Minnesotan by birth and a Texan by choice. He attended McNeese State University in Lake Charles, La., and has had several career occupations in Texas. He was a sports reporter for the Beaumont Enterprise, assistant general manager of the Dallas Chaparrals (before they became the San Antonio Spurs) and, after retirement in 2001, a newspaperman in Marble Falls. When his youngest daughter developed breast cancer, he and his wife of 55 years returned to Minnesota. But, through the magic of the the internet, he has continued to work "in Texas", covering Faith Academy sports "through the eyes of the school's coaches" who provide him with box scores, their quotes and impressions of games. He then forwards his story by g-mail to his newspaper in Marble Falls. "The coaches are the key," he points out. "They never miss reporting a game."
